Parents,
Mrs. Wilson and I have both sent out a copy of this letter to each of you.
Please return the enclosed Student Information sheet during open house.
Welcome to Fourth Grade! We are excited about having you in our classes! As you can see, Fourth Grade is a little different than Third Grade, because we do many things as a team of teachers. Mrs. Lamberth teaches Math, Science, and Alabama History to all students, and Mrs. Wilson teaches Reading, Language, and Spelling to all students. We change classes in the middle of the day and at the end of the day. Fourth Grade is a time when students should be responsible for their work. Please encourage your child to keep up with his or her own work and help them get organized in order to do this. This is the time for students to take responsibility for their own behavior, actions, materials, and homework. We have set up a Fourth grade blog that you can check throughout the year for news, assignments, slide shows from special events, and more information: www.yes4thgrade.blogspot.com.
We invite you to the Meet and Greet Open House on Thursday, August 16, 2012. There will be a meeting with Mrs. Thomas at 2:30 in the auditorium, then Fourth Grade parents and students will meet in the auditorium at 4:30 for a brief meeting. We will be available from 3pm. to 4:30p.m. to meet you personally in our classrooms. We hope students and parents will enjoy the scavenger hunt we have planned. We will send a booklet with you at the meet and greet that will give more information about Fourth Grade. Please bring supplies and the $20 supply donation during this time. You may also pay for lunch money, order a school T-shirt, pay PTO dues, and tour the school.
Please complete the enclosed form and bring it with you to Meet and Greet. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know more about you this year!
Sincerely, Fourth Grade Teachers
