Penguin Patch

Thanksgiving Holidays

School will dismiss early on November 21st for Thanksgiving Holidays.  Students will return to school on Monday, November 26th.

Please note the dismissal time for students has CHANGED from 1:00 to 12:30 p.m.

Bus students will be picked up at 12:30 p.m. and car riders will be dismissed at this time, too.

PLEASE make arrangements for this dismissal time change.

American Education Week

We had a special guest speaker on Friday to  help us celebrate American Education Week. Mr. Earl Wesley (Buddy Wesley) spoke to us about his time playing football for the legendary Paul "Bear" Bryant at the University of Alabama.

American Tea Party

We had the privilege of having Ms. Millie Chastain visit our classes.  She discussed the history of Veteran's Day, flag etiquette, and read us a cool pop-up book entitled,  America.  And, to top things off, we had a "Tea Party" complete with snacks and lemonade.  We enjoyed her visit and learnedalot about respecting our flag, country, leaders of our country, and one another.

Alabama Power Guest Speaker

We had a special guest from Alabama Power to visit and teach us all about
"Playing Safe Around Power Lines".  This was a very educational and fun presentation.

This week’s star student has a positive attitude that inspires her classmates to do the right things. She is always following directions and leading by example. She has a smile on her face always and is ready to tackle any task that is given to her. She is a hard worker and is always respectful to herself, others, and her environment. Great job Alyssa L. for being this week’s brightest star! Keep up the great work!

Veteran's Day

NO School on November 12th. 

Use this week-end to research why we celebrate Veteran's Day.

Don't forget our field trip to Fort Toulouse is Wednesday!  Wear an orange t-shirt, jeans, and comfortable shoes.  We will be leaving the school by 8:15am and returning by 2:00pm.
